Providing Hope for Pets and Their Families

The link between animal abuse and domestic abuse is well documented. Up to 52% of victims entering shelters leave their pets with their abusers; often because domestic violence shelters lack the infrastructure to house companion animals. Mazie’s Mission partners with domestic violence shelters to bridge this gap and provide a safe haven for pets displaced by family violence. Animals entering our program are provided up to 90 days of shelter in a private foster home or trusted boarding facility, where they are loved and cared for until they can safely be reunited with their families. In addition to providing a safe place for the pet, dogs and cats entering Peace for Paws will be evaluated by our compassionate team of veterinary professionals and provided any necessary care. Administered care is up to and including a full exam, vaccines, Spay/Neuter (only with owner consent), and treatment for any injuries or existing conditions… All at no cost to the family or shelter.

We are ALWAYS looking for loving foster families to help us help victims of domestic violence. The commitment is for a maximum of 90 days, but many of the pets entering our program are reunited after 30 days. If you are interested in fostering a pet with our Peace for Paws program, please fill out a foster application today!!
