Mazie’s to the Rescue!

Mazie’s Mission runs an active foster-based Animal rescue program in the DFW Metroplex

In 2023, approximately 6.5 million dogs and cats entered animal shelters across the United States. Of those, approximately 690,000 were euthanized. The animal sheltering community is in crisis, with intakes continuing to increase, while adoptions decrease. Healthy, adoptable animals in our shelters need more time to find their homes; so what happens when an injured or sick animal is brought in? That’s where we come in!

Our Rescue Team is always on the lookout for animals in need. We partner with animal shelters across Texas to provide a soft landing to medically needy animals who otherwise would be euthanized due to lack of funding or space. Our full-service animal hospital gladly provides the medical care these animals need, and once they are healthy again, we find them loving forever homes. No medical case is too big! Injured and sick animals are our specialty, but we do also take in healthy animals in danger of euthanasia for space. We do not accept owner surrenders or strays from the community, opting instead to work directly with shelters.

The Mazie’s Difference

What makes Mazie’s Mission stand out from other Rescue Organizations in our community? Our rescue was founded by a veterinarian, and our foster program is supported by a knowledgeable, compassionate medical staff. Any foster animals entering your home will be examined by our veterinarians at our hospital before heading home with you. We are very passionate about homeless pets and believe ALL pets deserve access to the highest quality medical care, regardless of their sheltering status!

In addition to the support of our professional veterinary staff, Mazie’s Mission partners with Certified Professional Dog Trainers and Behavior Consultants when needed to help our foster pets succeed. We utilize positive, force-free training methods only.

Whatever your level of experience, there is a place for you in our rescue family! Are you ready to get started saving lives? Read more about how to become a Mazie’s Mission foster parent here.
